Diana Groe-- I started writing in 2001. In May 2006, my debut novel, MAIDENSONG, was published by Leisure Books under my real name, Diana Groe. ERINSONG followed in November 2006 and SILK DREAMS in July 2007. These are epic, dramatic tales—full of passion and angst in exotic settings.

When I wrote DISTRACTING THE DUCHESS, its light-hearted and frankly sexier style was such a departure from the first three books, my editor suggested a different penname. Emily Bryan was born. Light or dark, serious or silly—we need equal portions of laughter and tears to stay balanced. I hope you make room on your bookshelves for both my incarnations.

Just don’t be mad if I keep you up some night. After all, don't you deserve happily ever after?

My Favorite Things

1. My Husband! As the old country/western song says, we both come from a "long line of lovers." Our parents both celebrated more than 50 years together and my hubby and I have enjoyed more than 31 years of marriage. The wonderful thing is--we're still having fun!

2. Our daughters! We raised two beautiful girls and we're so proud of both of them.

3.  My Faith! I decided not to write inspirationals, but I can't seem to keep God out of my stories.

4.  Travel! My husband works in the travel technology business, so we've been able to take more trips than most. I'm embarrassed to admit that I've lost track of how many times we've been to Europe. I've visited all but 4 states and we try to cruise at least once a year.

5. Living in different parts of the country! I have lived in--hold on!--Iowa, Colorado, Minnesota, North Carolina, Wyoming, Utah, Washington, Missouri and Massachusetts!  I love meeting new people and exploring new places. People always ask me which was my favorite place. There are wonderful things about all of them. The trick to moving so often is to decide that I like wherever I happen to be at present the best.

6. Music! Though I no longer sing professional opera, I still love music. I always have something playing while I write and I love singing in my church choir.

7. Making things up! Creating a world that's gone by, bringing characters to life, I love writing books. An avid reader all my life, I never dreamed writing my own stories would be such a wonderful adventure!
